About Carbon Graphite
Carbon is a very common element that is widespread in many forms in the atmosphere and the crust. Carbon elements have long been known and used, a series of carbon compounds – organic matter is more fundamental to life. Carbon is one of the ingredients of pig iron, wrought iron and steel. Carbon can chemically bind to form a large number of compounds, both biologically and commercially important molecules. Most organisms in the body contain carbon.
The existence of carbon is varied, with crystalline elemental carbon such as diamond, carbon graphite; with amorphous carbon such as coal; complex organic compounds such as animals and plants; carbonate such as marble and so on. The physical and chemical properties of elemental carbon depend on its crystal structure. High hardness of diamond and soft and silky graphite crystal structure, each have their own appearance, density, melting point and so on.
