About Carbon Graphite

About Carbon Graphite

Carbon element
Carbon is a very common element that is widespread in many forms in the atmosphere and the crust. Carbon elements have long been known and used, a series of carbon compounds – organic matter is more fundamental to life. Carbon is one of the ingredients of pig iron, wrought iron and steel. Carbon can chemically bind to form a large number of compounds, both biologically and commercially important molecules. Most organisms in the body contain carbon.

Existing form
The existence of carbon is varied, with crystalline elemental carbon such as diamond, carbon graphite; with amorphous carbon such as coal; complex organic compounds such as animals and plants; carbonate such as marble and so on. The physical and chemical properties of elemental carbon depend on its crystal structure. High hardness of diamond and soft and silky graphite crystal structure, each have their own appearance, density, melting point and so on.

Carbon graphite history in China (2)

China has many big size of carbon graphite¬†enterprises, low concentration. As of the end of 2011, there were 871 graphite and carbon products enterprises above designated size in China, with the total sales revenue of the top ten sales revenue accounting for only 13.46% of the total industry. From the perspective of the development trend and competition pattern of the graphite and carbon products markets in the world, in the future, China’s graphite and carbon products industries will gradually be concentrated in larger groups and the concentration of graphite and carbon products industries will be further enhanced.

With the rapid development of China metallurgy, chemical industry, machinery, medical equipment, nuclear energy, automobile, aerospace and other industries, the demand for graphite and carbon products in these industries will continue to grow. The graphite and carbon products industries in China will maintain rapid growth . 2006-2011, China’s graphite supplier sales revenue compound annual growth rate of 36.56%. According to the current domestic and international economic situation, combined with 2006 – 2011 years of Chinese graphite and carbon products industry sales data and Chinese economic growth data, a rough estimate 2012–2015 years compound annual growth rate of graphite and carbon products industry sales of 21% In 2015, China’s graphite and carbon products industry sales revenue will reach 340 billion yuan.

Carbon graphite history in China (1)

As early as the 1930s, China’s Jixi willow in Heilongjiang Province and Shandong Nanhu graphite mine started the production and processing of graphite. At that time beneficiation process is simple, poor working conditions, low productivity, annual output of only a few thousand tons. After decades of development, the output of Graphite Manufacture and carbon products in China has risen rapidly. From 2004 to 2011, the compound annual growth rate of graphite and carbon products reached 22.12%. In 2011, the output of graphite and carbon products in China was 25,561,700 tons, an increase of 21.98% over the same period of last year.

Carbon Graphite products with excellent performance, more widely used, production and efficiency showed a rapid growth trend. In 2011, China’s graphite and carbon products industry has developed rapidly. Enterprises in the industry have higher management and control over cost and expenses, and have stronger profitability. National Bureau of Statistics data show that in 2011, China’s graphite and carbon products industry to achieve 167.564 billion yuan of total industrial output value; sales revenue 167.765 billion yuan, an increase of 40.58%; total profit of 10.959 billion yuan, an increase of 50.87%. With the continuous promotion of applications, the competition in China’s graphite and carbon products industry is becoming more and more fierce.
